SEA, SUN AND CULTURE "Positano 2011" "A dip in the most read pages of summer"
Theme and subtitle of this year's event will be:
"The ethics and aesthetics"
As part of Positano 2011 Sea, Sun and Culture, Culture Prize 2005 by the Presidency of the Council, the promoter of Italian Institute for Philosophical Studies have decided to enrich the program with a study day on ETHICS and aesthetics.
The Ethics and Aesthetics, friends and enemies. Ambiguous and subtly recognizable faces of the same coin. Are both the reason and emotion, the opinion and prejudice, mother and aunt of the whole art and its history. The one born in the other and the other is reflected, thus regenerating the tortuous path they have in common. They fight and flirt, destined to live as intimately intertwined trajectories and sometimes mysteriously parallel. Philosophy and faith have often accepted the challenge to keep them together, building them on the same altar. But both know the temptation to remain still, to leave and lock the cage. Kant called "standard normal without" the rebel who has casual face that is beautiful. And it's the Fair, in its eternal bond and its endless conflict with the rule, which appears here in Positano, one of the sinuous harmonies of this bright Amalfi, a muse who inspires and feeds the centuries of dreams and imagination of writers and artists , the place where the form and substance penetrates into the contours of the coast of words drawn from the poets.
Just give us the ethics and aesthetics of interpretation of the prospects we are on the hunt, opening the breach through which we see new horizons of meaning and sneak into the secret of writing and art.
The seminar will be dedicated to Charles and Salvatore Attanasio, in memory of the efforts to bring in their positive testimonies of the ferment and international culture.
